FIRST ANNUAL

Surfers names will get called for their jersey pick up 15 minutes prior to their heat start time. 
When a name is called, that surfer must report to the tri-canopy “main event” tent set up—3 royal blue canopy tents labeled “SURF ACADEMY." It is here that the Beach Marshall, Tabulator, and judges are set up. It is also here where people can check their heat times and advancements listed on the scoreboard set up on the east side of the Beach Marshall tent. 

Heats are 15 minutes and we will have water starts
This means surfers may enter the water 5 minutes before their heat and stay off to the side of the contest line up in a “holding area” until the buzzer marks the end of the previous heat/the beginning of the next heat.

This is a day of gifts and giveaways!
Event t-shirts and snacks for all participants, as well as a vendor area—come ready for shreddy, ready to snack, and ready to shop!

At the bottom of the general schedule, you will see “awards” marked in HOT PINK.
For the contest awards at the end of the event, the tabulators need about 30 minutes to wrap up all the math and then we will crown the queenies starting at 1:30pm.

The general heat schedule is color coded for easy understanding:

LIGHT PINK: Round 1 heats, all age groups

MEDIUM PINK: Round 2 heats for age groups 20-39 and 40 & up

PINK: FINALS for all age groups

Each heat number has a corresponding time, and we are an ON TIME event.
